As Founder and Managing Partner of Perry Capital, Jeff brings a unique combination of operator experience, strategic vision, and disciplined capital allocation to every investment.
Throughout his career, Jeff has demonstrated a consistent ability to identify underserved markets, execute early, and create meaningful value. His “first-in, early-in” approach—paired with strong sales execution—has led to the growth of multiple companies that have generated significant returns for stakeholders.
Jeff’s philosophy is rooted in delivering what he calls “cost-effective, irrational service”—a commitment to exceeding customer expectations in ways that create durable competitive advantage. This mindset was developed during his early experience building destination resorts, where service quality was the primary driver of success, and has since been applied across industries ranging from healthcare services to manufacturing.
As founder of Avascend Healthcare Hospitality, Jeff introduced a differentiated, service-driven model to hospital environments, ultimately building the company into a market leader before its successful sale to a strategic buyer. He later applied the same principles to the life safety compliance industry, scaling a fire door inspection and compliance business to tens of millions in revenue and over 300 employees prior to its acquisition by private equity in 2022.
At Perry Capital, Jeff focuses on partnering with entrepreneurs at critical growth inflection points—providing not only capital, but also hands-on operational guidance, strategic insight, and access to a deep network of operators and industry relationships. His approach emphasizes collaboration without control, enabling founders to retain their vision while benefiting from experienced mentorship and structured growth strategies.
He is also the architect behind several vertically integrated platforms within the firm’s portfolio, including a premium wood products ecosystem and a multi-stage metal fabrication and finishing platform. These platforms are designed to capitalize on fragmentation, drive margin expansion through integration, and create scalable, brand-driven businesses with multiple exit pathways.
A native of Virginia, Jeff has spent decades in the Kansas City region building businesses and investing in the community. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from George Mason University.
Alec Perry developed an early passion for timber, manufacturing, and the mechanics behind how things are built. He holds certifications in welding and a CDL, giving him both the technical expertise and logistical understanding to operate across multiple facets of industrial and construction environments. In addition, Alec brings hands-on experience as a seasoned heavy equipment operator, further strengthening his ability to execute complex projects with precision and efficiency.
His mechanical aptitude and operational versatility have proven invaluable across the Perry Capital portfolio, where he plays a key role in supporting both field execution and production processes. Alec has a deep understanding of the importance of responsiveness, reliability, and delivering exceptional service to clients in a timely manner.
